  With meebo moving away from providing messaging functionality, who knows how much longer it'll be supported if the message clients modify their protocols.

  I'm hoping meebo either promises to update/support their chat client or provides an official chat log export feature so that we can move our messaging needs to another service provider.

  Hi. I just wanted to make it clear that Deltik is not a Meebo employee - it sounds like he's trying to make a 3rd party tool capable of pulling out Meebo chat logs - I don't know the feasibility of this. We are still considering this capability as a possible future feature.

  exporting chat logs has been a very popular requested feature since late 2010. what would be make this idea a priority in your dev team?

  I love Meebo, but I only used it sparingly because I hate having my chat logs stuck anywhere. I would definitely feel much more comfortable with your brand and product if you'd provide the ability to take my logs with me. It really would be a huge advantage, and I'd almost immediately start using Meebo more often. (Currently I only use Messenger, but that's how everyone knows you, so make those users happy and they'll be more likely to try out your newer services.) Thanks!

  Yes, please allow us to export all chat logs from our instant messaging accounts.

  If you have no plans to continue to develop the messenger services with your new focus on web check-ins, the least you could do is allow your current core user base to download and export all of their data from your servers.

  Because of various complaints that people were unable to download Meebo chat logs by using Log2Log PHP, Deltik is making a second attempt to make it work.

  The Log2Log project is NOT gone. Downloading Meebo chat logs is the number 1 priority, and Log2Log is the main focus of Deltik right now. It is still in active development, and we will let you know when Log2Log is ready. We missed our tentative expected release date of the end of August 2011, but just be assured that DELTIK IS STILL WORKING ON IT.

  Log2Log will be officially supported for Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.

  I agree, I have some really important personal conversations I want to keep safe on my pc. Or some information about some contact I cant seem to remember and don't want to ask again every now and then. Even a .txt file is fine. Manually copy-pasting hundreds of pages of development of a relationship is kind of dull. and that's just one IM service.

  A piece of my life is in those logs. I cant remember everything the logs do :D.

  Deltik has worked very hard to bring you the first Meebo chat log self-serve backup system.
  Here's a fair warning for you: This software was rolled out as fast as possible and is currently alpha-quality software. It has gone through mild testing and has been rather successful.

  SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: MeeboConnect is not capable of downloading chat logs while there is an active session. Make sure to log off of ALL your sessions of Meebo before trying to download your chat logs.
